The most dangerous Bond. Ever.

Post by snorby schnorrbusch »

You know the drill. You choose the thingie next to your favorite James Bond movie.

EDIT: Changed the topic title to something a bit more appropriate.

EDIT AGAIN: Fuck! Erased the poll by mistake! Oh, well. Got to add who did the title songs and who played Bond.

I think this is a good topic.

I voted GoldenEye. I know there are people who stress that the classic films with Moore or Connery and whatnot were better, but even a Bond movie can drag on a bit, and I felt that a few of the older ones did - notably The Spy Who Loved Me. That, and I really liked the character of Boris.

Live and Let Die also deserves special mention for J.R., and the speedboat scene.

I was tempted to pick The World Is Not Enough because of the double-whammy hotness that is Denise Richards and Sophie Marceau, but I went for The Man With The Golden Gun, because Christopher Lee is wonderful as a villain.

I really liked "Die Another Day" because it involved North Korea and stuff.

Out of the ones I've seen (Dr. No, Russia, Goldfinger, half of Thunderball, Living Daylights, and all the Brosnan Bonds) I went for Tomorrow Never Dies. Carver had the most megalomaniacal reasons for being a villian- sure, any villian can irradiate billions of dollars worth of gold, or sell a shitload of opium in exchange for money to the Russians while selling weapons to the Mujahadeen, or set off an EMP over London to avenge his parents' deaths, but it takes a TRUE whackjob to start a war just to improve a TV station's ratings.

The more I think about it, the more I realize I probably should have put Everything or Nothing on the poll- sure, it's not a Bond movie, but it comes pretty damned close.

And while I've got the reply box open, I'll just state for the record that The Living Daylights was the best Bond theme ever.

Live and Let Die is a cool song.

I never saw the movie, though.

Yes, it was, though sn0rb is right about the theme from The Living Daylights.
