The almost-impossible game
Ok, I saw a few practical jokes about instant deaths and stuff in that "ADventure" post, so I thought........and I thought again.....I should make a game that is almost impossible. I need some ideas in which I can add to the game to make it almost impossible. Thank you.
╟ is the best char.

A board full of #cycle 1 #throwstar seek indestructable objects.
Past that, a board full of objects that /seek#if contact kill where :kill = #take health 100 haha and :haha = #endgame
Then an water maze with objects firing a solid line of bullets.
If the player still survives, at the end there should be about 50 objects, that look the same, but only one of which is the true game ender. All the rest just shoot you.
Or you can do what the other two have suggessted and spare us the torture.

Way ahead of you.Commodore wrote:actually a large maze with a lot of open areas and a bunch of star spewing objects at cycle 1 and a few distanced energizers would make for an ALMOST impossible game. If you don't make that I will.
It's on my other computer.
I wonder if I should release it or not...

There's something very wrong when people's characters need frames of them blowing their load :(

Okay fine
How about this - the major I LOVE YOU game. Make a game with only a little yellow border guiding the player on which board edge they are suppoed to go to eventually.
Now, there is an inviso maze throughout for like 40 boards, and they are all red invisible, and you have an object with this code:
Why not this classic excellence?[/code]

Make a little combination lock that appears in one of those blue text boxes. Have it come up when the title screen is viewed, have it use every single character on the keyboard (in random order, of course), and give it like 20 digits. The user has no idea what the combination is. If they get it wrong or refuse to enter the combination, the object does something like #play ++t3b, which plays a high pitched note of infinite duration (at least on my machine). Even better, make it a flat or sharp and fine tune it, so it gets the same reaction as nails on a chalkboard. Then do something mean like one of those player/boulder duplication things that locks up your computer. On the off chance they get the combination right, all that happens is ZZT doesn't lock up. You can then press "P" to play. The first board is the same as the title screen, only with a different combination. If they get past <i>that</i> one, a passage opens up, taking them to a <i>third</i> killer combination lock, and so on. Put in as many boards of this as will fit, but leave room for a very understated "you win" message. In fact, maybe the message can even insult the user. After all, in order to get to this point, they probably cheated.
Wait, let me revise that. An object on the first playable board plays a randomly selected tune. The user will be quizzed on what tune it is. Since it will be random each time, they will have to have the sound on, or they will fail the quiz and the computer will lock up. Once the quiz has ensured that the sound is on, a player clone setup will detect any further pushes of the "B" key. If the "B" key is pressed, the user turned the sound off, and they will be penalized through the locking up of their computer. Play the bloodcurdling tone <i>all of the time</i>, not just when the user gets the answer wrong. Also, put incredibly revolting images on each board on order to throw off the user's concentration further.
This gets more into sadistic torture of users, but hey, it's hard, too.
