Pokemon

In your adventures through the Town of ZZT, you have been captured by the evil Dungeon Guards. Not recognizing you as the great escape artist you are, the guards have thrown you in the Dungeons of ZZT.

Pokemon

Post by Kjorteo »

Does anyone else actually play it, or am I just the biggest dork ever?

Not that those two are mutually exclusive.

To be honest, I played the first blue and red games, but after that it all fell short, its the same game really just some little things added to the gameplay. I mean come on, Yellow and Crystal are just what their beforhanders were just a one or two little things added to make the game be sold again for some quick chash. (And yes, I know beforehanders is not a real word, get over it.) Besides from many people not taking intrest in the pokemon games anymore because they are thought to be targeted to younger audiences is sort of a lie in itself. Im not sure how old you are kjorteo, but I've seen grown men the age of 30 play pokemon games, (so dont feel so down). Again, all the pokemon games are the same thing with a new story ect. (Like the Dragon Worrior games.) Im not sure what motivates you to keep on playing but if you like it so much go ahead, but your still going to be called a loser/moron/retared because alot of people dont like Pokemon anymore. Oh, and to answer your question about you being the only one playing these games anymore: thats not true, my younger brother plays them and he is like 13, 14.

.....Yeah, my hand hurts now.

I liked how the battle system worked. It was cleaver and original. The new ones there are duel battles so it's even more interesting. The anime was frighteningly horrible and maybe that's what turned people away from the whole pokemon thing but I still like the video/card games.

I think Commodore was talking to me; I kind of attract furry jokes ever since one of the mods found my website, livejournal, and Portal of Evil writeups and altered my sig. I just kind of play along.

To answer your question of my age, I just tured 21 three days ago. That actually brought this whole thing on; I got a GBA SP for my birthday and turned around and bought Pokemon Ruby for it.

And Commodore, eww. I would sooner violently kill and dismember (in the non-kinky snuff porn way) that rodent than approach it without clothing. I've hated that one in particular ever since he got overexposed to the point of getting his own game that was all about him..

The comment was a jest and all in good fun.

More relevant to the topic. I fiddled with pokemon blue and red on an emulator. Personally I think it was a weak RPG but it held my attention for a little while.

I think pokemon is one of the most evil marketing schemes ever. They designed the show to be a video game basically, and the spat of shows that it spawned was sort of sickening.

I think you mean elongated. And, longer doesn't always mean better.

except you forgot how the entire idea from the beginging was to addict kids to the idea they have to own every pokemon and pokemon related thing ever. Also Dragon Warrior does not apply to pokemon in any sense. The stories are not rehashed. Albiet the first one was very simplistic, it gave birth to console RPGs as we know them today.

I've played two dragon worrior games in my hole life, 3 and I think the other one is 4 or 5, I cant really remember. All I remember from those games were that they were similar and I did not like the story or how the battles were played out. I still have the 3 dragon worrior for the game boy and the other game I played at a friends house.

and what you say is true Commodore, it was targeted at kids, but now its not just for kids. I really cant believe how much adult attention the games are getting even to this very day.

Back in the day I used to love pokemon. I was like the best around here too, especially at the card game. Then one day I decided I'd buy two more packs of cards, and call it quits. I ended up getting a Blastoise and a Rocket's Blastoise and was :O THINKING NINTENDO WAS TRYING TO KEEP ME HOOKED BY BLESSING ME. It didn't work, I quit.

Anyways I also had silver, got the first 8 badges but lost interest quickly.

All of them? I found one and four to be awesome while neither two nor three particularly held my interest.
