I got this Pentium II Compaq Armada laptop for $25 the other day. When I run ZZT, there's empty space between all the characters. Any idea how to fix this? Assuming it's probably a resolution problem, the laptop's max resolution is 1024x768.

it may be an issue with the ascii font embedded in the bios. have you tried
zzfont ?
