24HoZZT #3, Spring 2007

Post by Quantum P. »

WHEN: Wednesday, March 28. The contest begins and ends at midnight (12:00), PDT.

TOPIC: Alternate history. You may do the standard stuff, like alternate outcomes for World War II, but keep in mind that your fellow contestants may take creativity and originality into consideration.

WHERE: Email the games to me, susanwasinski@gmail.com. But my name should be Christopher Mounce, so make sure you change the address before submitting! A link to the entries will be posted here within about ten minutes of the contest ending.

JUDGING: As an experiment, the entries will be judged by the contestants. You must judge the other contestants' games, or else your own game will be disqualified. As proposed by Commodore, you will order the games from best to worst. You are free to add commentary as to why you ranked each game as you did. Email your scores to the same address you submitted your entry to. Don't judge your own game. The deadline for submitting your scores is Thursday night at midnight, PDT, which means you have 24 hours to get your scores in. I reserve the right to throw out your scores and disqualify your game if I think you're messing around. So do a good job.

CONTESTANTS:
* Commodore
* Fungahhh
* gingermuffins - Received
* hyde`
* lemmer
* Nixon - Received
* phunk
* Zandor 12

NEXT CONTEST: The winner shall host the next contest. The next contest will occur 4 days after the results are in from this one.

seems like it would be easy to cheat by giving a whole lot of low scores.

I think a better method would be to just have the contestants rank the games from best to worst then assign point values to each ranking.

I wasn't able to make something in the last couple 24hozzts because I just didn't have any extra time on my hands. Though it's kinda unlikely that I'll be able to do anything for this one, I'll try to.

yeah -- I guess I'll sign up too. I've got like a writer's block so maybe this will help me out.

...Very good idea. Fixed.

EDIT: Added contestants and clarified judging deadline - you have 24 hours to submit your scores.
