ZZT Music BPM?
What BPM (beats per minute) is ZZT music?

yeah where did madtom go to anyway? he hasn't come back since posting "Leaving." in the wrong thread, but then the two months it usually takes for him to return haven't yet expired so there's still time
i expect some australian or kiwi to know
anyway it doesn't depend on cycle, it depends on whether you're using tempo t, s, i, h, w or some other stuff. i was never good with music, ever, so i don't really know

<s>(cycle 1)
/i/i/i/i/i/i/i/i/i (9 idles) = 1 second
txx (two rests) = /i
18 rests = 1 second
18 x 60 = 1080 rests per minute
?
okay i don't know either</s> this is wrong

I miss him too.
1/32 note (t): 1/20 second
sixteenth note (s): 1/10 second
eighth note (i): 1/5 second
quarter note (q): 2/5 second
half note (h): 4/5 second
whole note (w): 8/5 second
So that would be 150 beats per minute if you're using quarter notes. However, you can emulate a different tempo by using other notes, dotted notes, double-dotted notes (yes, ZZT allows this!), and I think even triple-dotted notes - not sure how far you can go.
A sixteenth note is 1/10 of a second, no matter what #cycle you're using.<dave2> where's madtom
<dave2> I need my madtom
<dave2> I want him so bad
<Nadir> me 2
<dave2> I want to rub it all over
<dave2> oops I've said too much
<Nadir> no you haven't.
<Dr_Dos> you've only said what we've all been thinking

I thought it was 1 idle at cycle 10. I'm pretty sure MadTom wrote a user article about it.
Edit: MadTom didn't, but the old ZZT encyclopedia's clock engine has /i/i at cycle 5.
10 / cycle = idles per second.

mister lad is a brain drain
also i just thought it was #cycle 9 because i remember editing "zap zak" and there was a timer that ran at #cycle 9, and each idle was pretty much a second
in the right of censorship, i have to change CYCLE 9 to CYCLE 10.
i'm sorry for any inconvenience this may cause
goodbye
