it's true, but then i don't really see why plot is that important in zzt games
the only game plot i wrote that was REALLY bad in my own humble estimation was dragon woods (it was meant to be a fantasy parody, a la discworld, but i was too much of an idiot to pull it off), the rest were perfectly serviceable for the needs of the game. besides, this shit was like three years ago at the latest so it doesn't exactly matter.
ps. captain smiley is going to hell for what happened today. i will make sure this happens

That's why I abandon anything with a plot.

I like plots, most of what little I ever finish is laden with it, but I can understand why people might consider them unnecessary
I just always figured that since it was a text-based game, you'd communicate what was happening with text, and that implied a plot. Y'know.
Really most plots for ZZT games aren't very good, with some obvious exceptions like ESP and maybe a couple of drac0 games

i thought the stuff i wrote for frost 1 was okay, actually. could have used a bit more fleshing out, perhaps.
but quite frankly i usually started a project with an engine or a game idea in mind, so the game came first, not the plot! (best example ever: lebensraum)

i'm going to kill you with it
that's what i'm going to do.
actually i have been busy with teaching, but sometimes i do things in my spare time. sadly i have no scanner right now so i cannot show you my wonderful pictures with horrible perspective (i only really got the hang of three-point perspective last month and i'm still kind of scared of using it). i have also been making up a script lately, which sort of retells the first part of frost 1 with a comic book format in mind, with (hopefully) better writing. needless to say, fox tampons have been omitted. i'm a bit stuck where to go next with it though (i got to the part where penny ruins rose's shit, but i don't really know how to handle the next transition. ohh godddd)
so there you go. so you have asked, and so i have answered.
