1999?:Plenty of space on my 400 MB hard drive! Time to go online and fill it with more freeware and shareware... Hey, what's this? I meant to download a GCS with decent graphics, but instead I got this "ZZT" thing. Oh well, looks pretty neat anyway.
2000?: Searching for ZZT games. There sure are a lot of them. Hey, there's this one site that seems like the center of ZZT activity. They even registered the domain "zzt.org." I bet the guys at this site are real professional programmers! I wonder where their offices are and how they make money?
2001: I'm thinking about submitting my masterpiece, Ascii Spy. Boy, I hope nobody else thought of that name before I did. I didn't use STK, but I used my own toolkit. I wonder if that's okay? I think I'll pester the staff about that. Hey, who's xabbott and why's he talking about shutting down zzt.org?
2002: Resist oppression! Free Tyrannous! Down with the commies! Down wi... (Voice quickly drowned in the noise of the crowd. Sirens in the background. Fire trucks start spraying protesters with water. Fishfood arrives with riot control.)
2003: I'm slipping. This Dr. Dos fellow gave OPRGV1 a good review, and I got a couple of MTP awards, but my production is lagging. I don't think I can do one per month. And Commodore, this new ZZT hotshot, is making something inspired by Wolfenstein, and he'll definitely get an MTP for it. I don't know if I can compete; I've got to get OPRGV4 out the door before Commodore finishes his game, and oh no please computer do not fail on meeeee
2004: So... I asked to be a moderator, and now I am one! Wow, I'm a staff member now. I have power! Boy, I've got to do a good job; I don't want my superiors to think I don't take my job seriously! Hey, why is Z2 breaking?!?
2005: Z2 is back, but phpBB is broken. Wow, this place is a mess. I'll clean it up! New forums, weekly uploads... Or maybe I'll become occupied by other things and procrastinate.
TODAY: Synchronized e-commerce logistic global economy vendor data storage "best fit" curves data mining residuals upload trends extreme programming regression statistical ZZT charts. Also, I wanna be head admin so I can be the one to play musical instruments while Rome burns.

1999: discovery of THE OFFSPRING and other extreme metal like KORN and the south park soundtrack. i think this was the year i ran up a £300 phone bill and got smacked up for it
2000: discovered actual good music (tool, kmfdm) and became kind of goth; made psyche, which i still think holds despite being written when i thought slipknot was a good band
2001: i don't remember much from this year apart from the whole kracken thing starting off and madtom sucking my dick a lot. oh yeah, i remember this was #misanthropy's halcyon days before all the drama set in. i miss those days kinda

I like how Nadir's chronology mentions me twice directly and once indirectly (Respite lyrics). This makes me feel special. Dos you are not permitted to post the "Kirk Gibson is special" picture in response to this.
The scrap in 2003 was caused by me being obsessive about running the site, and this faux-neutrality I was trying to keep up in response to what was fortunately the dying gasp of the retarded phenomenon that was ZZT politics. I had a big fight with Donut too. I was pretty messed up over that whole year and some of the ZZT content I made (not just Respite and its godawful theme song lyrics, though I still like the music; I had other projects as well) is testament to that.
Actually getting a job in 2004 and cutting my study to part-time helped with that, though I think I'm still pretty messed up. I'm not proud to admit I have a few scars on my left arm from that period (shut up I know how dumb it is).
I still think that zenryoku may have eventually killed himself. Not over the ZZT politics thing, obviously; he had a fuckload of pretty weird problems. I ended up having a big fight with him when he ultimately said 'fuck you madtom' for refusing to side with him and wisely enough I didn't bother with him much afterwards.
Also in 2005 I formally stopped being a Christian I guess, and got really into black and death metal and Zen/nihilistic/existentialistic stuff.
