what principle
i like drawing in mzx because it's less confining than zzt in several ways, although i tend to confine myself in the sense that my style in mzx is "zzt on steroids", as can be seen in what i've done for seventh shade's rebirth machine game, or this picture (drawn about nine months or so ago, i was playing due to the windows port release);
could you do that in zzt (font or no)? i submit that you cannot
i don't have the inclination to learn how to program in it though
the only real principle against using mzx i can think of is "mzxers are anal-retentive jerks" which is valid but i still like the program itself kind of
i guess you could say you won't use mzx because there's not enough limits or something but ggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg

as for the actual picture? that guy sure has a big cigar, it's almost bigger than his mouth
and he has teeth that are apparently made of bricks
other than that it's fine!
so yeah i think the mouth is wacky but it's mostly good

he looked upon the world and saw it was still depraved

my principle is mainly that I'm lazy, and secondarily because I just don't want to.
also I wanted to say "I don't use MZX on principle" to sound cool. That seemed to miss the mark. :P
I submit that outside of the height restriction, what you have done there can be done in ZZT, it just might take an assload of work. Unless you implemented some crazy MZX feature I am utterly clueless about.
His bricks are supposed to be teeth, but originally the tiles were intended for buildings, so yeah, they do look a little thick. I suppose I could invert them but then I'd have to use objects, and I hit the 150 mark early into the drawing and had to cut corners (note the buildings that are normal terrain blocks and the ones using doors and blinkwalls as windows.)
you are right about the cigarette though, it has been smallified.

Your picture looks nice, by the way.
