Mines the ruffian. But bears can be fun if you mess with their stats and give them high sensativity and make them cycle 1.

I like lions. Simple, but effective. Ruffians are just plain bastards. I lost more health to ruffians than all the other creatures combined. Including evil star tigers.

Rotons rule! A shame they never attained the fame of the other pre-fab enemies =(

And their movement is sort of that of a fast, non-shooting tiger. The bears in SZZT kind of look like snakes for some reason, if memory serves correctly.
