Celebrities and Autism
One of the biggest complaints that the autism community has is that it lacks a specific celebrity spokesperson. I get emails that say, "Diabetes has Mary Tyler Moore, why can't we get someone?" It is a good question and while there is no one person that stands out, many celebrities are involved in the cause of autism.
If you saw "Robin Hood" or are a fan of the "Harry Potter" movies, you will know who Alan Rickman is; and if you don't, you should. He is a wonderful actor that adds a unique flavor to a role that makes you feel no other actor could have ever played that part. And he is involved in autism.
The Stars Shine for Autism Christmas Concert will this year be held on December 13 in the beautiful and atmospheric surroundings of St John's, Smith Square, Westminster, in Great Britain. Alan Rickman, along with other celebrities, are coming together to raise money for the U.K.'s largest autism charity.
I suggest that we email and write celebrities that we know have participated in autism events. Let them know we need an official spokesperson; we need our very own Mary Tyler Moore! The Stars Shine for Autism Christmas Concert.

Alan Rickman? Wasn't he the angry pissed off guy in Galaxy Quest, the angry pissed off guy in Dogma, and the angry pissed off guy in three consecutive Harry Potter movies?

Alan Rickman rocks, but getting him to do a benefit is questionable. He'd be like "Fuck you autism RAAAAR >:("
