assuming you're using windows, even a batch file can be assigned all of those things through a shortcut. especially the ability to start fullscreen. it's in the 'sceen' tab of the shortcut's properties.

A batch file is a file that allows you to run several commands in a row, a shortcut is just a file linking to another file.

waaaay back when, there was something called DOS. DOS was what we had before windows. it was only text, so we had to imagine what the pictures looked like. they were dark days.

basically, a batch files is a shortcut from way back when. with the dawn of windows (dusk rather. windows.... ugh...) shortcuts kinda replaced batch files. but shortcuts could only do one thing at once, which is why font stuff uses batch files.

so it's a shortcut to a shortcut, the batch file ( .bat ) does the DOS half of setting up ZZT, and the shortcut ( .pif or .lnk ) does the windows part of making sure it's full screen.
