well, there are a few utilities on the archive to help out. Also ZZT does come with some helpful documentation and samples on the subject. press "h" in the editor.

Also there are some articles on the site that shuold help. And do forget to download and play "ZZT Syndromes".

Did you mean not to forget?

What Commodore said. Also, I would like to suggest The ZZT Encyclopedia. It's got about ten or eleven ZZT files, each containing demonstrations of ZZT-OOP engines and methods on a certain topic. If you have any questions on a certain coding problem, you can post them on the Z2 fora, and you'll probably find someone who can help you. Good luck learning; hope you become a productive member of the community!

Do or don't forget Syndromes; ZZT Crime is better anyway.

ZZT Encyclopedia has an ungodly selection of neat tricks and engines to try and Syndromes or Crime are good for a list of things to watch out for. Most of it is common sense unless you're new (honestly, raise your hand if you don't know by now that yellow borders are bad.) However if you are new, they're an excellent reference for avoiding a bunch of the common mistakes found in "this is my first game, check it out!" projects.

crimes and syndromes are about the same. I usually tend towards original ideas more though.

There's sadly no really good tutorials, it's best to find something that does what you're trying to do, or is similar, and learn it. NOT COPY, because then you'd be DUMB.

I needed nothing but the ZZT help file to master the art of ZZT-OOP, which I have put into practice with many magnificent games that are much to spectacular to be uploaded to this mediocre archive. You should follow in my stead, it will make you a better man.

Yeah, the ZZT help file is okay for learning what to do. Or how to do it. Maybe.
