I has anotehr burning question about ZZT

it's 4 AM and I should sleep

you know the dark blue equals signs when you first launch ZZT in the (keyboard/color) menu? Is that stuff run-length encoded or what? You know, like the boards are.

It's not! It looks like it's just stored pretty much as is. Somewhere in the utilities (here and on the museum site) there should be something to decompress ZZT's executable UNLZEXE or something. If you ever want to modify ZZT, for most things you have to decompress it first.

You can find it quite early in there, it's the first thing with considerable strings to modify.
