Hey all, long time no see! Owcp, ZZTDude, WeirdMan here. Anyway I've got a huge collection of games I've been hoarding for awhile and started slowly going through the ones I think are missing to the site. But if someone else wants to go through them as well I'd be happy to upload a big zip of them somewhere. Or if there's any particular requests.

Hi! How big is the zip? You might be able to just attach it to a forum post.

One lost game I can think of is pirates.zip. i don't remember which is in the archive, but there are two game entries that point to the same zip. So the other one was overwritten at some point.

We have Pirate Perils, but not "Pete the Pirate".

I think there's an upload limit on z2's uploader, but I'd definitely be interested in what you've got even if it's a big old mess to comb through

These were from what I had kept from over the years as well as quite a few from KingBat who I came into contact again with at some point. He had Princess Polyana's Pursuit into the Perilous Underground that I had wanted to play again for years which I had uploaded in the past to Z2, but I know there's likely more. Hell he even had my first (horrible) game Barney Hunt that I thought I had lost forever. Playing it again it feels like it should've stayed lost :)

Holy crap, "Calvin & Hobbes: Seasons Come & Gone" is in there. I haven't played that since the days of AOL. I wonder if there's any other old stuff I might recognize...

And even that isn't going to be all of them! I started using my python script to dump screenshots of the titlescreens and did it for everything rather than just that list and realized there are some different versions of existing games like Link's Adventure. Though if anything's changed other than the tagline on the title screen I don't know yet.

Was this archive ever fully explored? Looks like there are some listed here that aren't on the museum yet. (Yes I am rather bored at work ATM.) Ex kevquest.zzt

If Dos or someone else has a working copy of the archive (OP's link is dead) I can take a look through it

I've got it and I'm already working on publishing all of it to the Museum of ZZT. A few (like Kingdom of Zandia) already made it on there - but... my main blocker is figuring out a way to do it in a way which helps engage the community - as there are most likely three-digit numbers of previously unknown worlds in there, I wouldn't want them to become a mere statistic. Once I figure a good way to handle that, it should be smooth sailing.

Ah, that's good to hear!

When possible, it might be fun to try to track down the author(s) and if they're on Twitter/whatever have them link/engage with their past work that was probably thought to be lost. (There was a great story along those lines recently about an old thought-to-be-lost DOS game https://kotaku.com/a-programmer-lost-a- ... 1840684828 )

Oh wow, I missed this post. Looks like Los Refritos 7 is in there, as well as the POKEY ZZT games. Is there anywhere to grab the zip file? The link earlier in the thread is now dead.
