im nadir :D
metroid prime is excellent but i am sure nuero and/or lemmer will tell you it sucks, they're wrong
metroid prime 2 sort of sucks, though, due to lots of stupid little problems. putting an ammo gauge into a metroid game for anything other than missiles is the worst idea ever. that said, the sanctuary fortress is the best level in any metroid game, period
i haven't played either gc or wii mario kart, a lot of people hate the wii one and say the gc version is better, apparently commodore takes issue with that
viewtiful joe owns, made by the same guys who made okami and god hand, it's really damn hard though (just like god hand)
eternal darkness is really good and creepy, but people kind of oversell the sanity effect meter (it's a nice idea but i shouldn't really have to keep my player character on the edge of peril to get the most out of a game). also i do not understand why people seem to cream their panties over the bathtub scene, it's a shitty shock-scare that lasts like two seconds, i just do not get it
everything commodore said above is pretty much true to the extent of my knowledge. a few additions to what he said, though; 1. i loved wind waker but there's no denying it's extremely short. 2. killer7 is awesome but admittedly more for its themes and aesthetic than actual gameplay. 3. i'm pretty sure you've played ikaruga already so you do not need a recommendation for that.
i have not played pikmin but anything that is regularly compared to lemmings is tops in my book.
to be honest though i'm not the pickiest guy ever, generally my most negative reaction to a game is "this is okay, but there's something else i'd rather be playing". the only gc game i outright hated was resident evil zero, which i bought, ran around a train for an hour, got annoyed by the controls and sold on ebay for more than i bought it for. even then i did not hate it enough to swear off resident evil forever (everybody loves re4, and i'd still like to check out re1 sometime)
Hope This Helps

pikman is fun and original, I just never got hooked on it.
I'd suggest the wii version of RE4. the ability to swing the knife without having to press a button is very nice, though early on when getting used to the controls you might find yourself suddenly looking up or down when you don't want to.
I agree with nadir about metriod prime 1 and 2. 2 is more of the same but less interesting the second time around. Likewise I wasn't all that impressed with 3, sure it's cool, but it lacks the exploratory theme in favour of an approach more similar to linear levels (at least what I played of it)
And I don't know how I forgot about viewtiful joe, that game is awesome.

Thank you for your suggestions! Here are my comments.
1) The Wii Mario Kart sucks.
2) Ikaruga was the first game I pirated.
3) Metroid Prime does suck!
4) I bought Viewtiful Joe 1 and 2 at K-Mart a few months ago for $10 each which was nice.
5) RE4:Wii is awesome and what I've been playing lately
I will look into Pikmin but wait until the Wii edition is released.
F-Zero, Mario Golf, and Killer7 will be looked into as well.
Anything that has good 4 player multiplayer would be nice too. I know there was an awesome gamecube Bomberman game.
