is a pretty fun game i guess, and you should probably at least rent it and see what's up.

it is basically an old arcade shooter, except it's fucked up on a massive amount of lsd. all of the enemies are geometric shapes that come in massive swarms and it's really easy to die if you aren't paying attention.

you should play it and report back here immediately. :drussrox:

i think my brother downloaded a game for PC that look like this. i remember it being pretty good.

I know it was an xbox download, but I don't think the PC thing was related, simply a clone. but you said rent, as though I might find it in a box at a store? intriguing.

Grid Wars is the PC version.

I've got a copy of Geometry Wars Galaxies on my DS but never play it.

It is a fun game though and the bright fancy lights are how I'd want Aura to look if it was a real game.

I saw this at K-Mart for five bucks on clearance, bought it on a whim but never got around to playing it. I suppose I shall have to remedy this then!

Lumines almost justified my PSP.

There's a version on Steam but the demo was weird for me so I never bought it.

I think that Geometry Wars Galaxies for Wii and Lumines (I have the PS2 version) are both good games that are worth getting

There's also a free PC game called Echoes that's like Geometry Wars.

seconding the recommendation for echoes, also check out "mono" by the same creators (it is unoriginal as all hell, but that doesn't mean it's bad)

just played it. it's a pretty decent asteriods clone, but I can't say it gives me the same feeling as the old astrofire. the movement with the mouse is surprisingly intuitive though. I think my main complaint is the lack of flying saucers. most of the enemies are sort of bland, though the sun and black hole are cool. the duo game on that site is more interesting, as far as having a original concept, but also suffers from bland enemies.

I was talking about the game tapeworm suggested. I'm broke right now so I'll have to wait on geometry wars.
