Nanogames 24HOZZT

Starts midnight GMT and goes for a whole day. You only have to make a one-board game so you shouldn't need the whole 24 hours. Discussion channel is #nupanick on slashnet

The contest has begun! The themes are: Elections and Sandwiches. You don't have to use both. The judging will be based on Relevance to Theme, Most Visually Appealing, Best use of Space, and a "bonus" category I will reveal when the judging starts.

Email me your finished game (as a zipped .zzt file, please, even if it IS only one board) when you are done. Resubmissions are allowed, but use common sense and don't send me hourly updates or I'll have to dig through all of them at the end and I might not get the right file into the judging.

additional rules: Anonymity available upon request, but not required. Late submissions will not be graded. KevEdit and ZZTAE are allowed. Games must be one board in length (including the title screen).

If there's any confusion as to how much time is left, this countdown clock tells you how much time there is between now and when the contest ends.

It's in just fine, and go ahead and make something MasterRaze! There's 9 hours left right now by my clock, and you only have to make a one-board themed game.

I, too <s>have lost a kingdom</s> have submitted an entry.

Yay! That makes 3 so far, since Quantum P. finished early and Pancake recently sent his out. Zamros has showed up in #nupanick a few times but not said anything.

There is now only one hour left!
:agh:
I hope everyone's finishing up by now. I'll start sending out ballots at midnight, GMT (8 PM here in EST) If I don't get it by then it won't be on the ballot.

Does anyone wish to vote who didn't send in a game? I'm sending the ballot to everyone who made a game and anyone else who asks to judge. But with only 3 submissions (and my own vote) that's only 4 ballots! Does anyone else want to put their two cents in?

Not that I can vote, but I wouldn't mind seeing the other entries.

Actually, I'm doing "everyone who submitted can vote, just not for their own."

I'll release the entries now, they'll go in the z2 submissions bin as "nano24.zip."

no explanations added yet, I want to have them judged first.

Oh, and here's the ballot. Anyone can submit a vote, I guess (but I'm still emailing reminders to the participants)

Again because of the time zones, I guess I'll give people a while to finish submitting ballots. But no more after midnight gmt tomorrow.

I voted E.S.P., did you?

I think S.Cat has a good point in his suggestion that there should be a "best in show" category, so I'm adding that to the ballot. If anyone else wants to use that, just stick it on the end in the same format as the others.

I'll go edit the doc, now (this is the beauty of linking to the blank ballot instead of pasting it in a post)

EDIT: done!

I finished and submitted the ballot. It was pretty close and it took a little while for me to decide.
