The term "ZZT company" usually means "ZZT club".

Quite a lot of people are making their games solo now, but not everybody! I think that Ando and Commodore are still with their company, Mirror Image Games. Also, every now and then somebody will enlist the help of their friends in making a game, even if they aren't in a company together. For example, Frost had a programmer/artist and a musician, and ESP was a giant group effort. People still work together; it's just a bit less formal than it was, say, three or four years ago.

I can code for a game, I can write music for a game, but that's about as far as it goes. I'd have to be involved in a joint effort.

Crafting worlds solo and releasing them under one name is kinda... redundant anyway.

I was hesitant at first but since I once bought Shaq-Fu at a pawn store for 5 dollars for the hell of it I now want to join this fine gaming establishment. Yes, that's my actual reasoning.
