Holy mother of radioactive Jesus Christ action figures.
Was looking through MadTom's Picks, and happened upon two interesting things.

That's it. January 2005. Let's make it 3 in a row.
I can't believe I *just now* found this stuff.

http://zzt.org/mtp/awards/august03.html
also madtom time for <s>zoophilia</s> zoology 101.
This is what people call a "fox". Your reviews seem to call such creatures "bushy-tailed canids".
I just thought you should know.

PWNEDMadtom wrote:MADTOM'S PICK WILL CEASE JUDGING AT THE END OF THIS YEAR.
December 2004 will be the final review for MadTom's Pick. Those of you active in the community may have noticed that I have been actively working to disentangle myself from the complex web of responsibility in which I found myself during the year. Please allow me to explain.
2004 has been a very, very bad year for me, possibly the very worst of the eighteen I've had. I have accomplished very little due to the lower expectations of me in university work (I have reduced my course load in preparation for adopting studies at Sydney University), and wasting too much time online. I have been housebound, and have made almost no progress whatsoever on furthering myself in real life. This isn't so bad as I was already ahead by almost two years, but it doesn't feel good to have lost what could have been a considerable academic advantage in later life to sheer disorganisation and (yes, it's true) depression.
In review of the past nine months, then, I have come to accept that I can be a "patron" for ZZT no longer. My commitment to board and site administration, and the management of the MTP award, ZZTV, and the Weekend of ZZT competition (see how busy I am?), which once was motivated for a love of the game and for the people who played it, seems to me now no more than my subconscious making a bid for appearing important and gaining attention. Fun has become too much work for me, and it is taking up too much of my time, and giving me an excuse to waste even more. The only things I still truly enjoy for their own sake are making and playing (good) ZZT games, and talking on the fora and IRC.
I know that there are some people like craNKGod who seem to be able to balance a busy life with contributions to and administration of the site, but much as I would like to be, I am not one of these people. This isn't a "I'm leaving you clowns forever", message so much as a "It's someone else's turn to do this kind of shit, now; I've done more than my fair share."
Thank you, then, to all the game authors who made MTP the great site I now feel it is, and to all those who've supported the site over its two and a half years of activity. See you all on IRC and the fora.
Reason and logic had led people into the horrors of war; the only route to salvation was to reject logic and embrace anarchy and the irrational.
