Legends of the Fall

Post by 49 »

I don't come here often anymore.

My latest project is Legends of the Fall. A few of you may have seen the movie, but I have scraped that original version awhile ago. This is the far greatest project I have attempted to work on. Here's a very basic rundown:

Features include:

¤ A game engine that can keep track of age (up to 30), class, brad pitt level (damage modifers), mountain climbing, and also the standard stuff like experience, extra ludlows, arrows/fireballs, etc.

¤ Large, X-plorable lands, complete with towns, caves, rivers, and more.

¤ A way to export your character into other Legends of the Fall engine based worlds. This allows for people to make games using the LotF engine.

¤ Lots of quests, sheriffs, dungeons, secrets, and all that standard American jive.

Planned Legends of the Fall related releases:

Legends of the Fall
Legends of the Fall: Demo
Legends of the Fall Forever: The Legend of the Eternal Fall
Legends of the Fall Construction Kit (for creating worlds with the DL engine)

Here's a super keen document for those who are interested in contributing to this project (written in ZZT):
Tristan Ludlow wants YOU!!!!1

Seriously, Legends of the Fall is a big project,
and I could really use some help. If your
willing, send an email to
DooPenguin88@aol.com. Here's what i'll
need:

Music Writers - The game needs a lot of
great music, so I need some great music
writers. I prefer original music, not
converted.

Artists - Legends of the Fall has to look nice,
so artists are vital to the project.
Artists would mainly be creating
scenes, where music, men, and all
that stuff would be added in later.

Programmers - Not sure what's left to be
"programmed" per say, but sheriffs,
NPC's, and the such need to be made.

Writers/Thinkers - Ideas on certain
plains, trains, NPC's, etc. are
very helpful.

Beta Testers - Not needed yet, but I will
need them when the game nears completion.

Things you should know:

1. Because a status bar is placed on
every screen, there is a lot of board
size problems that have to be delt with.

2. Legends of the Fall needs to be top-notch in
all areas.

3. Everyone who helps out (artists, music
writers, etc.) will get a special in-game
gift.

4. I'll ask you for a sample of your
work if I haven't seen it already.

Again, email me at DooPenguin88@aol.com
if your interested in doing something.

Also look for my next great game, The Cider House Rules Xtreme Legends

And i'll do the music. Just make sure you include em all. I hate making 6 for tseng and he'll end up only using 2 and stuff, etc. And one WILL be A WHOLE NEW WORLD from Aladdin. That's the requirement I make. If it don't fit in the game, you gotta put it on the credits board or something inane. I just dislike it when a few songs get left out.. Like when coolzx i made like 6 for him and he demanded one more and i did and he used 3/7.. And the bastartd also got music from KEV too.. talk about a bastard and talk about coolzx.. hahaha and he probably looked his name up and saw this.

Count me in dawg.

I actually talked to coolzx about three weeks ago on #rawr. He was decent enough, albeit very angsty.

Druss should write the comical aspects of Dark Legends because he is good at writing comedy! Seriously! You have to give him a chance!

Yes, I see your point. He did describe himself as "a stretched-out sack of crap", so I don't think I could trust him.

I can prove very useful when it comes down to programming ZZT-OOPS and dealing with most limitations. If you're not scrapping the status bar, you can make me work on it to see how I can prevent too much memory being used, and simplifying program routines in other objects. Also, if you can describe in detail later, tell me how the Dark Legends construction kit works, and later still, how you are going about with the game's engines throughout. Yack, yack, yack...

So if you can, send what you do have to The Wet Blue Furry laying on your front lawn...or you can ignor me and say that I'm just an illusion produced by consuming a raw mushroom.

Edit:OMBloodyG...Ando, that's just plan raunchy, yo.

Edit:Nevermind, you've changed it.

I could help you out in all areas (except music). The only people that have seen my work are MadTom and Dr. Dos. Maybe they'll decide to tell you how good/bad it was.

Just send me a copy of the engine and I'll go from there.
