So there I was second period bored as hell. Sure I <b>could of</b> been doing my math homework but that's dumb. So I'm sitting there thinking about what would make a neat ZZT game that I'd actually enjoy working on when I get a clever idea.
Sure right now I don't have the plot done at all, but I have the basic gameplay down and the 12 main enemies already programmed.
SO IT'S LIKE THIS.
You have an aura (the game is called Aura not ARR RUH). YOU CAN CHANGE IT'S PRETTY LITTLE COLOR. It can be RED, BLUE, or GREEN.
You have enemies. They are oddly enough colored RED, BLUE, and GREEN. See a pattern? I guess it's like Ikaruga in that sense. You have to have a red aura to kill red enemies, blue for blue, and green for green. Killing enemies isn't even all that difficult since they always take one hit. In fact you don't even have to hit them. If they so much as come in contact with you they die.
So it sounds easy. Walk around BLUE ENEMIES, SWITCH TO BLUE, STAND STILL, THEY DIE, but then there's levels of enemies of each color who develop their own styles of attacks. Red relies on the power of BRUTE FORCE and beating the shit out of you, Blue is all I AM FAST ^_^, and Green is like E=MC² (because green is smart).
So you run around levels grabbing a red blue and green key to leave the level and killing these auras. To prevent my own confusion of what level had what abilities I made a little list of what they do.
LEVEL 1
Red: Wanders aimlessly. Slow.
Blue: Wanders fairly aimlessly. Faster than others
Green: Generally seeks player.
LEVEL 2
Red: Wanders Aimlessly, slow. 2 Damage per hit.
Blue: Runs quickly. Charges when alligned but can't stop until collision.
Green: Moves towards you. If blocked seek moves around you. Understands Level 4's Order.
LEVEL 3
Red: Wanders Aimlessly, slow. 3 Damage per hit.
Blue: Runs quickly. Charges when alligned can stop whenever it needs to.
Green: Moves towards you. If blocked seek moves around wall. Understands Level 4's Order.
LEVEL 4
Red: Finally speeds up to cycle 2. 5 Damage per hit.
Blue: Same as level 3. Hunts you the fuck down man. Like FSAJDFLASDJFLKSDJF YOU DIED. Charges at you with seek not flow. Goes crazy when you stop being alligned for a second but that's cool. Faster fleeing by charging in reverse.

Green: Same as level 3. Hands out orders to those that understand them. Sends Greens to FLEE when your aura is green. Sends red to flee when red etc. Makes level 4 blue enemies CHARGE when you have a green aura.
Hell level 1 enemies are bad enough when you have the wrong aura and are like WHOOPS THAT WAS LIKE 1 SECOND THERE GOES HALF MY LIFE.
So this is neat.
Also MadTom I demand you make me a title screen. It doesn't have to have music but that's your call because I know you'll ask.
Edit: Level 3 and 4 blue as well as level 4 green do 2 damage.

You know how that awesome person Smallhacker made a new ZZT that eliminated the "can't #put anything on the last row" glitch and made the SECRET flag useless? Someone should edit ZZT and make it so that although the default Player is a white-on-blue #char 2, using other editors to change it to any color combination and #char would be allowed and usable, or to make a utility that changed the Player to a chosen color scheme and #char. I think it would be awesome to play some games like Burglar! and the Dizzy games as MadTom and Nadir. Anyone able to do this? IT WOULD REVOLUTIONIZE ZZT AS WE KNOW IT!
