If you have a GameCube, try Eternal Darkness. It's heavily influenced by HP Lovecraft and a lot of fun. Not especially scary compared to some other games (see below), but it's definitely worth playing. I recommend letting your sanity run out and keeping it that way as much as possible.
If you have an XBOX or PS2, Try one of the Fatal Frame games. They are very scary if you let yourself get into them. Or maybe even if you don't. I had trouble with the controls in the first game, though, as I'm not all that good at 3D games.
If you have a PS2, PC, or XBOX, try Silent Hill 4. I just finished it, and it was the first game/movie/anything to actually give me scary dreams in a LONG time. I found that about it pretty interesting, as it wasn't as scary as, say, Fatal Frame while actually playing.
