Space Shooters

If you want to act like He-Man, grab a sword and stand on the peak of one the mountains in Valua then stick your sword into the sky screaming "I HAVE THE POWER!!".Then get struck by lightning just like He-Man.

If there was a mass dogfight between these spaceships, which would kick the most ass?

rrootage is awesome, here are the games that inspired the different modes in case you didn't know or couldn't take a crazy guess and you wanted to try them out maybe:

NORMAL - Dodonpachi (Arcade/Saturn/PS2)
PSY - Psyvariar (PS2)
IKA - Ikaruga (DC/Gamecube)
GW - Gigawing (Arcade/DC) (sucks)

Parsec47 is also a blast. I hope this guy never stops

ps, r-9 bitches

Idinaloq

This game is hawt.

Edit: Okay, I take that back. This game looks good, but plays mediocre.

Dodonpachi is probably the hardest ever and is great.

Guardian Legend is an old nes game I used to play.. I loved it. It's a mixture between a space shooter and a real time / zelda sort of game. I remember beating the 3rd or 4th boss and then pocket pc screen broke and I lost intrest in it.

If you have a PS2, these are two excellent shooters:

R-Type Final (R-Type Delta for PS1 is very good, too)

Rez (impossible to find now, but if you ever get a chance to play it, nothing really compares)

Ikaruga is a great game, but pretty hard. I bought it while on a field trip in Canada a month ago, and I still can't get to Chapter 4.
Reason and logic had led people into the horrors of war; the only route to salvation was to reject logic and embrace anarchy and the irrational.

I am also stuck on that game, on the level after the one where everything spirals.
