The first ZZT Utility to come out of the little cubicles we have here at Midnight Media will mostlikely be ZZTGUI. Written in mostly VBasic, the utility will have FMV capabilites as well as 3Dstereo sound (Still debating if I should go with 32bit or 16bit graphics to start out with.. gotta keep the old school feel in it) .. and a clean easy to use Interface.. (And I'll try to keep the file as small as I can)..
If you have any questions or comments feel free to post replies or E-mail me. :P
Oh, I almost forgot.. It will mostly likely also have (if user is connected to the net) game downloads right from the web-site to your system.. While you Play! Relieving you of the hassel of the search and save.
Wait.. so is this another ZZT editor or a ZZT clone like ZIG? Whichever it is, what other features will it have that will set it apart from the others?
I probably should've made this clearer; ZZT Projects is for threads about ZZT games only. Since this is a GUI it probably best goes in 'Clones and Editors'. Moved.
Well, ZIG isn't close to what ZZTGUI will be like.. So, I guess I will list all the features of ZZTGUI.
- Mouse Control
- Implemented F key commands
- Will run free standing video clips / animation
- Easy to use Interface
- A display for maps / char animations
- File swapping from designated game sites
- Will eventually support ALL ZZT games
- Smooth Animation
- Saved Records of Gameplay
- Easy-To-Use game creation utilities ( Seperate Stand Alone Utility )
Well, The basis of ZZT:GUI is oldschool feel... mixed with some new age tech.. so I guess you could say it's like a beefed up version of ZZT.. old school is still the basis.. but will have more features the scream out "Hey I am not just old school.. I can play a mean FMV too!!"
The ETA for ZZT:GUI is not yet known.. due to the fact, it's still in it's cradle.. But sometime soon there will be a demo available for DL.. that will include a built in game.
I am interested in this animation you say...tell me more of this animation. You mean like you can draw an art board and then you can animate it? Is it even out yet? I think I've heard of it somewhere besides here.
