Headhunter Isle, Horus Pyramid

Post by catqt00 »

I was playing "The Secret of Headhunter Isle" the other day from "Best of ZZT", but ended up completely stumped on how to finish the Horus's Pyramid puzzle... This is the one that requires a zillion torches and avoiding the Nyah Nyahs. I know it has something to do with the library and the hieroglyphics...

in the library touch the red "E", then the purple backwards "F", then the yellow scroll, and finally the blue hook. That nets you the white key after you break the statue.

I found a black key in there in the editor, but i forgot how to get it.

I used to have a hack called The Secret Of Weiner Dog Isle that somebody made where all the men were changed to daschunds and some text was cdhanged too. it was pretty good, I liked it better than Headhunter Isle actually, but I cant remember who made it.

the great thing about headhunter isle is, that greg janson made a game that was a blatant ripoff of it and nobody ever called him on it

then matt williams made a special edition.
he looked upon the world and saw it was still depraved :fvkk:

I remember playing the special edition years ago. I never even came close to beating it - I sucked at playing and didn't know that you could cheat in ZZT.

But I did open it in the editor, and with my overactive imagination and limited knowledge of what can be done in ZZT, I thought how cool the ending must be, what with the boat/submarine/whatever it is. I mean, the escape vehicle was drawn - it has to be fully functional, right?

if it was fully functional it'd break apart as it moved off the screen.

I believe that Janson or someone made two games that were exact copies of
each other, for the most part. One was called Fools Quest (FOOL.ZZT) and the other The 3 Trials (3TRIALS.ZZT). Very odd.

I guess I should have checked the edit dates. I like the idea though. Kracken seems to have been pretty cool. I really like her art (ZZTV, Ownage Triangle), too. She made a killer ERI logo. What was the story with her? Did she just get sick of ZZT and move on, or is there more to it?
