What exactly were the technical factors that caused ZUltimate and ircman!'s databases to be deleted? At what times? And why not the forums?

Epic Games didn't really make anything good after Unreal.

Well, of course someone who works at Epic Games would consider ZZT outdated. They make newer games and game engines that they feel is better in all aspects, though he kind of overreacted when the guy told him that, as if he was an idiot for wasting his time with it in the first place.
