Re: Zeta - a different approach to modern-day ZZT

Great it works! I was calling zeta using a long path from the git folder to the build one, 'cd'ing to the build folder (where I dropped zzt.exe) and it runs. Thanks!

Re: Zeta - a different approach to modern-day ZZT

Hi asie. I am trying to run zeta on linux but I can not get it to run. First I could not get it to compile and had to mod the makefile, I don't really think this is the problem though. On first compile I got: gcc: error: unrecognized command line option ‘-std=gnu18’; did you mean ‘-std=gnu11’? so I ...

Re: The Freeware Thread

Holy crap I loved that game! It suffered from overspeed on better processors pretty bad and didn't play nice with moslow IIRC. See also the SDL port of Sopwith, which is very good, but alas has not been updated in years.

Re: Lowtax is dead. Help his kids.

That certainly contributed but it was a long downward spiral. Long story short, he was a domestic abuser (allegedly, on the internet, but signs very much point to yes) and just had a family court decision come down after squandering all the money he made after being outed as an abuser and selling th...

Lowtax is dead. Help his kids.

If you are of a certain age, and I am guessing many of us are of that age, Something Awful was a part of your internet upbringing. Well Lowtax is dead. And left three children behind. If you ever dropped ten dollars on SA, consider spending more on his children: https://www.gofundme.com/f/helping-a-...

Nice work Ando. You still have those screenshots? They would be interesting and maybe as close to preservation as we can get.

Am I wrong or do title screen changes persist over a playthrough? Maybe that could be exploited.

It would be nice to have this running recorded in some way. What does it mean "implement scrolling"? Like between boards?

Re: There is a band named ZZT

Fun fact, or not, from me being Commodore adjacent, but one half of that duo, Zombie Nation, was sued by David Whitaker for ripping off his tune from a C64 game. Kernkraft is probably the most popular song of ZNs career, getting regular play in sports stadiums. Slight bit of irony that the original ...

Yeah, repairs are in progress. PHP's original MySQL library finally transitioned from deprecated to removed, which means a bunch of site code needs to be updated. I hate the mobile view of newer phpbb Is it a functional or aesthetic issue? If it's the latter, I'm open to installing a theme or two. ...
