Alright, i'm sick of this crap. Here's a real solution.

Did you get the mystic carpet in Harmony Town? If so, talk to Duke, and he'll commandeer it, and fly you out of there. If not, go south and talk to the Dish Golem. He'll give you a grappling hook, used to grab pillars that were previously blocked by lava. Walk west three steps, use the grappling hook, walk north twice and use it again, and then walk east once and use it once more. You should be at the stairs leading out.

And here's a trick you may enjoy...

When your father sends you to the dungeons to cool off, the next move here would be to pick up the items and talk to Duke, which would help you escape from the dungeon. But remember... you have an Escapade Pipe. What if you used it right now? When you use the Escapade Pipe, you leave the cell and you’re taken back to the entrance of the dungeon, where two soldiers are watching. The stairs are right above and you’re back in the castle! However, this is all you can do. The way out is blocked, and the soldiers still say that you should go marry Donald. If you talk to your father, he’ll look surprised that you discovered the Escapade Pipe trick, but he’ll say that the game cannot go on, and you must restart the ZZT game from the beginning.

Oops, I thought this was the version for the ZZT console.
