Oh, I forgot to list Darren Hewer.

Although his MZX games are probably better, his ZZT stuff is damn good too.

A few years ago, everyone would have had Knightt on their list. Now everyone has Zenith. How does that make you feel, Zenith?

I agree; I think he's majorly underrated as a ZZTer. MZX-wise, Darkness 2 was horrendous, but I blame Ibrahim for that since for up to what Hewer did (the demo was all Darren material) it was pretty good.

I fucking hated Darkness 2

it was the absolute pits

Mini-Darkness was the true sequel to Darkness.

Death and Damaged Mind were both an influence on Lebensraum, while ChickenWire 'borrowed' liberally from Darkness, Rangest and Jeebie's Quest. Honour Quest SE is something of an influence on Frost too, I guess (although tucan's unfinished root the sensitive poet aardvark is moreso).

Death also informed psyche.

Everyone should play Darren Hewer games, they're the bestest.

What about Chronos!? I know he has left the ZZT community, but he created the second ZZT encycopedia, and that's a pretty important accomplishment. For the same reason, I vote for Nanobot and the mystical winds encyclopedia.

Darren Hewer is probably responsible for a number of new zzters because of his site. So any game any one of them makes could not have been without him.

Here are my favorite programmers:

Admiral
Kosh
Sproaty
Sir Ovaltine
Icaeres

Oh yeah, Chronos.

I totally used to rip his graphic style off early on. Particularly in Blue Moon.

I forgot about him! Oops.

Although he did soil his own legacy by continuing Chrono Wars past #10. That was not a good idea. Finishing Mystic Blade would have been better.

and nanobot is a big blubbering baby
