The Freeware Thread

If you want to act like He-Man, grab a sword and stand on the peak of one the mountains in Valua then stick your sword into the sky screaming "I HAVE THE POWER!!".Then get struck by lightning just like He-Man.

I have heard excellent things about submissions in TIGSource's Bootleg Demakes competition. For example, the 2D platform Team Fortress demake, Gang Garrison II.[/url]
this is a deep and meaningful quote

I've played some of those Commodore, they are neat, but pretty hard. Never seen the Mega Man one though. Overall I think the Metroid one is the most "playable".

There's some new Wii game I've heard good things about called De Blob, and the pc version is free

Except it doesn't work for me, but it sounds cool and I'll probably check out the Wii version

That's pretty cool. Dutch, too! That makes me smile.

The sequel to Karoshi, the suicide platform game Nupanick mentioned earlier in this tread:

A Seiklus type of game, Painajainen. It's rather dated, but it's fun and features a pleasing soundtrack, so it's a recommendation if you haven't played it yet.

Aside: Comparing bruce lee's 20 rooms with Maze of Galious' colossal 330 rooms, I was a bit flabbergasted with the time I've spent on the former in my younger years, and what they could have accomplished if they stuck it in a 1mb cartridge. I was cheated from 310 rooms MAAAAYYYYIIIINNN!

Triangle Wizard is cool but I keep getting murdered. I wish sorting through your spells was easier.

The POWER

Image

It's a platform game my girlfriend has been playing the past couple of days. I haven't tested it myself, but it looks really cool. I did a quick search around the boards and I didn't find a post mentioning this game, so I thought I'd share the link:

Oh hey I played The Power once, it was fun. The ending was kinda abrupt, though - I was plowing through a rematch with the palace guards thinking "Oh man, the final battle's gonna be EPIC" and then I got the ending and was all "Oh wait, that was the final battle?"

there's a new game "Legend of Princess" by the guy who made chalk and noitu love that's pretty fun. it's short but worth a blast. http://www.konjak.org

Spelunky is pretty fun, really hard, which I like, and Zandor I agree with your assessment of the end of The Power. There were some nice boss fights in that game so I assumed the end would be awesome but it was certainly lacklustre.

Yeah, it had a feeling of "Okay I want to finish this so it ends now" to it. Also, Legend of Princess is freaking sweet and Konjak is some kind of game-making king.

my confession: i didn't like chalk much, although maybe i just wasn't used to the keyboard/mouse combination navigation system when i played it

noitu love 2 was fine though, i bought it, it's only slightly awkward
he looked upon the world and saw it was still depraved :fvkk:

Overall: Rotton egg for breakfast
