A really, really long time ago, I suggested a new type of ZZT contest. Instead of making games within a certain time limit, let's see how many people we can get to use ZZT, and the person who gets the most people is the winner! We'll be like ZZT missionaries, preaching the gospel of ZZT-OOP!
If I remember correctly, Nydark was first to point out that it wasn't a good idea. The contest would have required not only a community with an unrealistic enthusiasm for ZZT, but also the ability to pass that enthusiasm onto someone else. All without any real incentive. Also, you can cheat just by signing up for a bunch of Yahoo Mail accounts and writing in, claiming so-and-so introduced you to ZZT. But at the time, I felt those were only minor issues. How dare anyone criticize my idea!
The topic was lost to the sands of whatever wiped out the boards back when. I'd kind of like to read all those old posts, but I have a feeling I would look at them and think, "Wow, I was even more of an idiot than I thought I was."

I suggested we create a prefab introductory description of ZZT then posting it on at least 20 forums per user.
If you saw my recent postings at DMZX, I have made a lot of real money online. Here's what we could do: if 3 people make quality ZZT games, I will personally make $100 online and give 50 people a $2 incentive to download ZZT (maybe make a descriptive world they must read) and sign up in this forum.

Maybe you should pay people to use Bang.
