ok, so here's the deal:

i'm running zzt via dosbox under windows vista, but there is one little thing i'm quite disturbed about.

i've made a shortcut that mounts zzt.exe, changes keyboard to swedish, goes fullscreen and then exits when zzt is stopped, but the thing is that it doesn't use the original charset.

how do i fix this problem? (if at all)

what charset is it using? could you post a screenshot?

you could get fontmania, save the default charset it starts up in at 14 point as a .com file, and load it before loading zzt via batch file maybe. there's some command line parameter you have to set but I don't remember what it is, look at the batch file in angelis finale it's in there

wait, that's supposing fontmania even works in dosbox/vista. I dunno :(

You could try ZZFont. It does some funny stuff to the screen mode in DosBox (there's some blank space at the bottom of the window), but at least it's the right font.

You could also try what gingermuffins suggested and make your own font from what the startup default is.

Wow, that's weird. I wonder what it would look like if it was using a Cyrillic font.

That's how zzt looked on my Packard Bell years ago.

It was AWESOME. Although tigers are dumb.

yeah it's still playable but some characters get pretty messed up.
