so i think about these things while i'm trying to sleep. sue me.
anyway i think the problem with dmzx is twofold; admins who hate the site, and idiots who proliferate there. these two factors are symbiotic; the dmzx admins encourage everyone to be passive/aggressive through their uninvolved/hyperinvolved behaviour (exophase huffing about how he doesn't care about the site, then screaming at anyone who says anything untoward, ever, is a very good example), and the fruits they harvest are plain to see at a glance. so, they hate the users, but they have only themselves to blame.
of course, the problem isn't strictly internal; let's be honest, mzxers (both the curmudgeons and the lamers) tend to be hardcore fanboys of something or other, in this case anime or video games. i can't help but notice that that sort of obsession with specific annals of pop culture attracts certain types, but this is purely anecdotal.
anyway. wildweasel having mods is a symptom, not a cause. admins who don't care picked one of the few idiots there who could conceivably do a half-decent job (i know it's a stretch), and wildweasel (lancer-x, too) fit the bill.
the creation of the barkness forum is the final, horrible outcome of this. if you read wervyn's post on the reasons for creating the forum, in all its sanctimoniousness, it's basically the mzx equivelent of teaching "lord of the flies" to schoolkids; an easy way of saying "don't forget, you're all little bastards really".
in conclusion, dmzx sux :angryfire:
(this argument is disorganised, overly generalising and could probably be refuted with ease, but w/e)

that is just the funniest shit, possibly ever.
also godedrp going on about how to behave properly on the internet is hilarious in ways i shouldn't need to explain by now. pot, meet kettle.
ahahaha also also he called nihilistmatt "NiMa"
also also ALSO;
actually, you know what the whole barkness thing reminds me of? it reminds me of the time idiots like _god_ and knightt petitioned the z2 admins to make a "flaming forum", then funk decided he would do it after asking the other admins (ie. fishfood, kracken and myself; our answers, if memory serves correctly, were "haha no", "maybe" and "whatever" respectively, which he apparently took as an affirmative). the flaming forum lasted for a week, during which time they "hilariously" "flamed" each other until fishfood deleted it.
