Annoyances in ZZT Games

We were just going over common grammar mistakes in my English class, and I couldn't help but think about that one screen in ZZT Syndromes that goes over the difference between they're, their, and there. I started to think about whether the top grammar mistakes list would be of use to newbies and whether grammar is a really big problem. What other problems in ZZT games are there? Is grammar the most important? Can I evaluate this myself, or do I need input from others?

So that's why I'm asking this: What in ZZT games really gets on your nerves?

I usually don't like games with large amounts of dialogue, where you to go from one large box of text to another and so on. It's like "Come on, get with it already!" Kev-san's recent game is kind of like that, although I still thought that the game was neat.

to/too/two - "from me to you" "tippecanoe and tyler too" "two dicks, one chick"

their/they're/there - "their stink was all around us" "they're insane! they are insane!" "the bong is over there"

you're/your - "you're an idiot" "your idiot is loose"

use "latter" correctly. "between the red, blue and green, i'll take the latter" is wrong. "between red and blue, i'll take the latter" is right.

if you can count it, it's fewer. if you can't, it's less.

"my dog and i ran down the street," not "my dog and me"

thats all i can think of

if zzt came with a spell/grammar check to begin with this wouldn't be an issue. i request the official zzt development team include this feature in the next version.

it's and its

I think spelling is a bigger problem then grammer, but then I'm a terrible speller so I can't really point fingers. At least I know when I spell something wrong though.
