Tool assisted speedrun of Sonic 3 + Knuckles beaten in just 35 minutes. It beats the old run by about 10 minutes and it is a work of art.

Hopefully the times alone will convince you to get this.

I don't like tool assisted speed runs, it sort of ruins the point. I guess I'm still going to look though.

The laws of physics were made to be broken

I used to read the comic, and there was this one point where Sonic had to jump off the top of a waterfall to a likely death, but he was able to save himself by taking the sand that had accumulated in his shoes and throwing it to form a small trail that he then ran across to safety before it collapsed because of gravity. Or the impact of his feet. I didn't think anything of it when I was 10, but looking back on it that scene was so retarded that it was beautiful.

I think The Flash running along the electrons in a lightning bolt trumps that

Doing so now

I'm assuming it involves Tails carrying Sonic like in the first part of the video

Also I'm sure that both controller 1 and 2 are mapped to the same buttons

EDIT: or apparently spindashing within a tenth of a second of icecap act 2 lets you instantly beat the level

That's kind of lame

EDIT 2: Oh I see, when he glitched through the floor in act 1, he warped all the way to act 2 without "clearing" act 1

Even lamer

I don't understand the appeal of speedruns even in general. If you're going to learn to do something really fast, why on earth choose a video game?

some are pretty impressive. It wasn't a speed run, but there's this video of one guy playing two player ikaruga and he controls both ships. It is sort of stupid I'll admit, but some are fun to look at. (watching the marble madness ones taught me a lot.)

If it's possible, somebody will do it. Even if it's stupid or pointless, there will be at least one person for the job. It's like a generalization of Murphy's Law.

Over the summer when I had time, I studied the super mario brothers 3 speed run and now I can do the first level. It impresses people!

beating smb1 in a few minutes on one life is good for that too.
