The first two rooms the video shows, along with the save icon, make it look even more like a Cave Story rip. They even gave the character a Booster-type move. It looks like a good game and I'll probably end up playing it anyway, but geez.

I never said Cave Story was bad, I'm just really not into that sort of gaming and I ended up getting bored with it very quickly, and a cursory look at the plot and other elements in Google do nothing to dissuade me

I also found Chrono Trigger and even DOOM pretty dull overall, though, so draw your own conclusions

On one hand Doom was pretty much terrible

On the other I simply can't comprehend that someone would dislike Cave Story (or even Chrono Trigger for that matter)

I don't know what to think anymore

chrono trigger is pretty overratted. You max out way too quickly and every battle is just using the same tech over and over. The last boss was lame. The story wasn't that great as well.

Doom is awesome. But I get more enjoyment usally from wolf.

I liked Wolfenstein 3D better than DOOM too, but ultimately the same applies, after the first few levels it's just a chore. I didn't "max out" in Chrono Trigger but after the 5 millionth RPG battle the whole game kind of loses its charm. I remember I started playing that because Nadir told me to!

Lesson: don't do anything Nadir recommends

I have no idea how people can stand playing through those sorts of games several times to get bonuses or special items or characters or whatever

Most video games are really boring. I always liked ZZT games because I usually knew the people who were making them. That made things a whole lot more interesting

Now that we've found the problem we can work on correcting it.

My dwarven paladin is still not on that :(

Didn't I send you the victory log

If not, I'm pretty sure I still have it and could re-send

How is that supposed to refute what I said :(

because adom is pretty much the epitome of doing boring shit over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over until you want to scream

and madtom it's not my fault that you have really bad taste in things. you just have objectively bad taste! you don't like anything cool! ever! and you listen to burzum!

ADOM's gameplay is a lot less linear. And I got tired of that too!

But, no argument on the latter bit

Since Dr. Dos introduced me to both Cave Story and ADOM, I just want to
say thanks. You have awesome taste.
