Post by Commodore »

An epic story of the future in three episodes.

Episode 1 is about 70% done.

Hong Kong. The Western World has fallen. Immigrants flock to China and Japan. The story opens with our hero accidently killing a girl he meets in an online sex chat room. He is an ex-special forces member, and a splinter group of former US officials use the murder as blackmail to reactivate him. Discover the secrets of his past, and the dark future that awaits the entire world!

I changed the name cause I really didn't have one to begin with, that is to say I hated the working title. also the story changed and t he working title was less appropriate.

I am personally biased against fonts, but I think that your game is using them well. It looks very nice!

i keep reading this thread title as "vangelis finale" and i get sad that vangelis is calling it a day

then i remember that it's nothing of the sort and vangelis is still going strong.

I remember Darkseekr had that first person view.

Hint: Nobody used it because it had WALL or NOTHING so it's not like you could navigate by it.

darkseekr was actually really bad and not fun and pretty much impossible.

the best 3d engine was in dudesoft's zzt engine program, which let you see two paces in front instead of just THERE IS A WALL/NO WALL IN FRONT OF/TO THE SIDE OF YOU XD (was used in flatcoat lab's "misadventures of daniel fogerbokie"- tellingly, it was the best thing in that dumb game). benw has a nice one in "ben there, made this" but that guy never finished anything. it is a sad tale

I beat Darkseekr, and I liked it a lot! But mostly for story and design/aesthetic elements, I didn't care too much for the engine.

It did have an overhead map, which made things a bit more sane.

mine works pretty well, it shows three in front of you and if there's a left or a right as far away as two. but since the game is designed to play at full speed you can really run through it at a good clip. the map doesn't draw as you go though, you need to find terminals to get sections.

darkseekr was pretty fun but the story was lame and all the random elements could really screw you sometimes.

what is the point of saying you liked a game, if you didn't actually like the game itself

i don't understand

I didn't say anything like that.

But supposing I had: there wasn't much gameplay to Frost, but for which aspects of the game do you normally get the most credit?
