in less than 100 words explain what zzt means to you and how it gives you that 'special' feeling "down there".

i was drawn to zzt by my pixilated porn fetish,
complete rejection from anyone i met in person,
an insatisable desire to be loved,
and the knowladge that the community will embrace me with open arms and a gaping anus.

tell me what's on your mind, big boy

What does ZZT mean to me?

Well, a lot of kids were doing drugs back then... I tried something called a "Spidey McBlackout" and then wound up on a computer at Best Buy after-hours. I tried to type in "Zizymanthus' Zero-gravity Tetris" into the Google search bar, but decided to just put in the abbreviated form. I clicked on the download hyperlink, too dazed to even breathe. But lo! The pixellated delights of that screen! The shining array of old-school ASCII characters! The graphics enticed me with their low quality beauty, like some blocky seductress, ready for the hunt to begin. And so it commenced.

Now, I still use it to impress my friends and get that promotion!

Hooray for Zizymanthus, that bold and noble wizard of the Russian game of wits!

Stop trying to act like one of them by making a useless thread like this and putting nonsense in your replies.

ZZT is a perpetual source of amusement.
ZZT is balance between simplicity and complexity,
ZZT is artistic self-expression.
ZZT is a medium that allows for achievement.
ZZT is a tool we can use to make the world better.
ZZT is an educator in the realm of algorithmics.
ZZT is important.

how can zzt be that important though,
it spawned an internet community.
internet communities are typically breeding grounds for horrible things.
i see nothing accomplished or special in zzt (or the community)
it just happens to be cool and semi-versitile for those that would rather waste their time 'zzting'

but honestly i don't give a fuck, let zzt be important to you

zzt is important because it set the precedent for including editors in games, something epic has continued to do up to and including Unreal 2004

Well, it depends on what you class as special. To me ZZT is special because it was part of my childhood. It's a "classic". It was the first time I could make games that needed timing, reflexes and a trigger happy nature.

It is also very simple and possibly even the most simple game creation tool I've ever come across. Anyone who tries to make a game will succeed in making a game that is personalised.

True the graphics, and (arguably) gameplay, don't stand up to today's games, but most of them weren't designed to allow anything like as much user interaction.

Then there's lots of reasons why ZZT is special in terms of the community it attracted, and in terms of the community it's still attracting today - but as you pointed out, there's lots of things that attract community.

In conclusion I can't and shouldn't write long arguments.
