In proud recognition of the fact that I understand the concept of counting, I inform you all that z2 now has 1000 registered users. So uncork that bottle of Zinfandel you've been saving; now's the time to enjoy it.

Hey, guys. I just registered here, thanks to some help from Dr. Dos. I recently got re-interested in ZZT and started picking up where I left off with one of my partially finished games. I started with ZZT in about '94, I think, when I discovered it in my local Books-A-Million. lol My how time has flown by... I introduced all my friends to it, and a few of them jumped in and started writing their own games.
Anyway, I used to be a member of the old ZZT.org community (that's what it was called, wasn't it?), back around '98-'99. And since then, I've sporadically played around with it. It is, officially, my favorite computer game of all time. I'll never forget about it. I can still remember the way it felt when I loaded up The Town of ZZT for the first time... lol
It's sad, however, to see how few people there are left who are active in this community. I really feel we're beginning to dwindle to the point of disappearing. Oh well... Sorry for letting this post get so long.

I'm also hoping for some kind of mass community transformation, but doubt that will ever happen. Don't worry, there's still a few of us that actually touch ZZT (like me recently), so there will always be support for new ZZT'ers in some way. Anyway, this is not the best place to post that.

It's true that since around 2003 the community has worsened to some extent (for reasons I won't go into) but recently I've been sort of seeing some positive things happen. Wouldn't exactly call it a "renaissance", but interest in ZZT has definitely picked up again, if only a tiny bit.

I'm sorry. Did I say something I shouldn't have?
