These are all the bands from my mp3 directory that could be considered black metal:

- 3 Inches of Blood
- Arch Enemy
- Coal Chamber
- Dark Tranquility (well not really)
- Dauntless
- Delorean
- Demons & Wizards
- Devil Driver
- Disarray
- Dog Fashion Disco (only a few songs)
- Dry Kill Logic (more industrial though)
- Fear Factory (same)
- Finntroll
- GWAR
- Hammerfall
- Iced Earth
- In Flames
- Insomnium
- Iron Maiden
- Judas Priest
- Kataklysm
- King Diamond
- Lacuna Coil (kinda)
- Lamb of God
- Martyr
- Mastodon
- Megadeth
- Mercyful Fate
- Meshuggah
- Mortification
- Slayer
- Strapping Young Lad (kinda)
- Venom

I find it hard to categorize metal, because there are a whole lot of subgenres under metal (and by a lot, I mean a lot a lot).

Look Charlie Brown is singing some of his favorite Black Metal to give him the strength to rape and kill Lucy.

They only do split 7"s because they're soo underground

They apparently have one with a pitbull-fronted band though!

I just got most of Ulver's Bergtatt from karrde, having already received and adored Nattens Madrigal. It's really, really good.

A lot of it is Gregorian chant with heavy reverb over black metal riffs!

This is me listening to the album: :icannotcontrol:

For your pleasure I have here transcribed Hymne I from Nattens Madrigal

That reminds me, I tried downloading Speed Increased to Scaffold a while ago, but all that came up was a picture of an ipod and on the screen was a promotional offer. So now whenever I look at the songs I recently downloaded, theres a picture file named 'speed increased to scaffold' right there.

OK, this settles it. I am going to acquire the entire Manowar discography.
Manowar wrote:Here I see you stand from all around the world
Waiting in a line to hear the battle cry
All are gathered here, victory is near
The sound will fill the hall, bringing power to us all

We alone are fighting for metal that is true
We own the right to live the fight, we're here for all of you
Now swear the blood upon your steel will never dry
Stand and fight together beneath the battle sky

BROTHERS EVERYWHERE!!!
RAISE YOUR HANDS INTO THE AIR!!!
WE'RE WARRIORS - WARRIORS OF THE WORLD!!!
LIKE THUNDER FROM THE SKY!!!
SWORN TO FIGHT AND DIE!!!
WE'RE WARRIORS - WARRIORS OF THE WORLD!!!
