i've been talking about resident evil 4 a lot in irc lately

because i've been playing it, and it's AWESOME. they basically changed everything about RE, except it still has zombies



see! (also see my avatar) they almost cut the zombies, but nine out of ten focus groups preferred fighting zombies to resident evil: FARMING OF THE DEAD

the controls are still the same, except there's a new over-the-shoulder camera that a) makes the controls 1000000x better and b) makes it possible to actually SEE the zombie that's right in your face and killing you



also it're more of an action game than survival horror, you beat the shit out of zombies left and right

also a parody of 90s action movies. it's got these random kung-fu cutscenes and awesomely bad one-liners

you can actually aim for the head, too



and instead of taking place in raccoon city, it's some random village in rural spain, and umbrella corp is in no way involved

plus it's got this guy with a giant tentacle penis. someone gets stabbed through the chest with it! you seriously can't beat that shit

yes! i love this game a lot!!! i love you too! i think leon is gay, he didn't want to get with ashley. but i don't have a problem with that

The Resident Evil I have had these character profiles in the booklet and one was like 'though she is a bit of a tomboy' and that is really dumb. The game sure was spooky, though.

it kind of looks like 3d castlevania to me

although that's probably because i've spent about ten of my previous waking hours from the past three days playing aria of sorrow and circle of the moon. those games are like heroin to me

I didn't really like Aria, mainly cause of the main character. Circle of the Moon is cool. As far as "newer" castlevanias go nothing beats Symphony of the Night. Classically, 3 is probably the best.

the thing about aria is all the guys are girly bishonen pretty boys with impossibly shiny hair, except hammer the shopkeeper (who is shaven)

it's kind of funny, especially when soma becomes a vampire and the only discernable difference is in his hair

circle of the moon is hard

Get the succubus soul, it's great.

So Resident Evil 4 is worth buying, I guess, even though I didn't like the previous Residential Evils?

Yes. A lot of people disagree with the fact that you can't strafe, which was weird to get used to at first but it seems natural that I can't move sideways. It's the first game I've bought for the Cube in a long time and it will be well worth the credits you expend!
