Tilt your head left, and you'll see a little smily face.

Internet2

Guess what. INTERNET BUTT.

Actually with this new internet, data was transferred from Switzerland to Tokyo at 7.92 gigabits per second. That's fast enough to send a complete DVD in 5 seconds.

HOW DO YOU LIKE THEM APPLES?[/url]

When I was still in college, they (the campus) bragged that they had a fiber-optic connection to Internet2, leaving one to assume that those kinds of speeds would be the natural result.

In reality, said connection is from the outside world to the ISD building (ISD is the campus internet service.) Connections from ISD to the actual dorms were usually coax cable. In a couple cases, they were too lazy to connect newly-constructed dorms to ISD so they connected them to adjacent buildings for delicious sloppy seconds on the bandwidth.

At a respectable 2kbps, that had to be the slowest Internet2 I've ever experienced.
