Manuals

If you want to act like He-Man, grab a sword and stand on the peak of one the mountains in Valua then stick your sword into the sky screaming "I HAVE THE POWER!!".Then get struck by lightning just like He-Man.

Manuals

Post by FSFunky »

Manuals, videogames & you.

Assuming you evil lot actually still buy your videogames, do you read the manual? I am a certified manual-freak and will read the manual before I play the (usually on the ride home or while it is installing) game.

Sadly, the quality of manuals has been declining over the last few years, but, well, I just love them.

So, do you RTFM?

I usually don't (fear of losing/destroying them), although sometimes I will if the controls of the game are very difficult or if I want to check out it's artwork.

When I buy a game, I usually only read the manual if installation and gameplay are not straightforward, or if I'm bored.

It took me quite a while to learn ZZT-OOP, and it never occurred to me that I could just press "H" for help within the editor.

I collect tons of game manuals, and help posters if I had the chances, cause I was the same way. A lot wasn't even mine. I either got it from friends, enemies, or out of peoples garbage. Yea, so much life I have v_v. Since I'm an uncureable nut anyway, I got a box of'em from commodore, apple, nintendo, psone, cube, and more. Bleh...
