Weekend of ZZT Autumn 2004

Weekend of ZZT Autumn 2004
It's my turn to host the Weekend of ZZT this time around, and I'm very much looking forward to it! I consider the last competition to have been quite a success, and instrumental to the healing of some bad blood between Z2 and Zeuxworld. I only hope that we can do just as well again this time, hopefully with some new faces in the judging and competing crowd!
The rules are as follows.
1) You have exactly 72 hours from the time the topic is announced to make and submit your entry. Late entries will be disqualified.
The only possible exception I might make to this is if someone has problems with the upload script, which I will have phunk make up. If this happens to you, send it via e-mail to madtom@gmail.com.
2) You must stay on topic.
This doesn't mean simply mentioning the topic in passing. Your game must include some pervading sensible interpretation of the topic. Just how you interpret it is up to you.
3) You may use the classic editor, ZZTAE, and KevEdit. You may also use Quill and ZZT Piano.
Input from any other application or editor, including but not limited to BG_ASCII and ZBitmap is not allowed. It's very easy to tell when they've been used.
4) You may use any graphical element toolkit.
STK boards and toolkits like Suburbia Triumphant are fine, for those of you who still use them. Don't forget to leave the toolkit board in your game, though.
5) All writing, programming, sound, music, and graphics must be your own original work, made within the time period assigned.
We'll make exceptions for little things like Viovis' mixer, but not for an Ibag inventory system, the 'Look Into My Eyes' theme from ESP, or that board from Frost where Henna fires a bolt into the kraken's eye.1 You have to do it yourself.
6) You may ultimately submit only one entry.
If you find a bug in your game, you may reupload within the time period at your discretion, as long as you make it clear which is the version to be judged.
7) You may not work in teams.
Simple enough. If you have enough time, you can get someone to beta your finished game for you. Evidence of any further contribution will be frowned upon by judges, particularly me.
8) Joke entries, flaming entries, and irrelevant entries will be automatically disqualified and removed.
<strike>They will not be released in the compounded WoZ file, either.</strike>
______
1 If you import that board just to spite me, I swear I will make you regret it.
Me being me, I'ld like to judge the games myself, and here are some ideas I had for the other judges. These are just off the top of my head, so I am open to recommendations for and challenges to this list. To tell the truth, I'd like at least one judge to be one of the accomplished 'newer' members of Z2 (as in, those who haven't been around since forever). I would like a total of at least five and at most eight judges. Here are my ideas:
<strike>Clecky</strike>
<strike>Commodore</strike>
craNKGod Agreed.
<strike>dave2</strike>
<strike>Dr. Dos</strike>
<strike>FSFunky</strike>
Hercules
Knightt Agreed.
MadTom Agreed. (No, really.)
Mooseka Agreed.
Nanobot
phunk Agreed.
Stak Agreed.
Zenith Nadir Agreed.
Judges are, of course, restricted from competing. To stop leaks, I will also be the only one to choose and release the topic when the contest begins.
I don't have a date for this yet, but I think it'd be safe to assume the contest will take place in early October, after ZZTV9 is released. Please post on the thread if you'd like to sign up.

The day I judge is the day I beat ADOM.
UNFORTUNATELY THIS MEANS MY FURRY FROST RESPITE PORN INSTANT 100 POINTS RULE IS GONE.

I'm willing to be a judge. Mostly because you're Madtom and not Appliance (who, by the way, never sent me the entries for the 24HoZZT).
