Okay, I know that was a rip-off, but that's how I feel right now. Due to the fact that I live in a crappy district and go to "year round" school, I begin my freshman year tomarrow. Therefore, this means almost no Pilgrim's Progress work, and no BSing with you lot for a while, at least, not as much. :( Anyway, if anyone else feels the same way, feel free to <strike>b---h</strike> whine here about it. I'll begin: My HS is sooo crappy, it's 50 years old and has no orchestra, and is rated as "underperforming"! This place REALLY sux, and many people there have only the intelligence of brutes! I HATE IT! There.

I'm fine with my school, but some of the students perplex me...

I'm friends with a girl at my school who is pretty much the expert on hating people's guts. Right now, she's busy on a former friend and classmate. They've known each other for at least a year, probably longer; I even have a picture with them standing together and smiling. Then there was some argument about a boyfriend, and now she hates her with all her heart. It's silly; they invested time and themselves in a friendship, and in a moment were willing to tear it all up. She herself admitted how senseless the whole thing was.

She's also got a grudge against every teacher but two, and together with her friend, they got it down to one. It was interesting to watch the feedback loops form. One of them would inevitably do something to offend the teacher, the following command to stop it would be viewed by the student as a blatant, unprovoked insult, she would respond defiantly, the teacher would become aggravated, <i>etc...</i> The two parties drove each other crazy. I mean that almost literally, too!

And, here's how the majority of the students study:

1. Ignore coursework
2. Flunk (or nearly flunk) classes
3. Retake classes through a correspondence course
4. Ignore any work involved there, too
5. Repeat steps 1-3 until about 20 classes have to be made up or it's almost time for graduation (whatever happens first)
6. Do it all in the little time left
7. Complain about the heavy workload at the school

They don't seem to get that they have to do the extra work because they didn't do it when it was first handed to them. I do my work, get good grades, and have plenty of free time. They don't seem to make the connection; if they are, they aren't willing to act on it. I don't know... It's just driving me nuts right now.
