anyone out there speaking german at least a little should try

http://www.game-of-robot.de

its gameplay is similiar to zzt / mzx, but it features cool graphics.

i grew up with game of robot, and, sadly only lateron (2004 ;) discovered zzt and mzx. but to be honest, a CANNOT get it running anyway. i've tried it all: dosbox, vmware, bochs, my old win98 laptop and so on. but there is one big problem: the ascii font is always incorrect. the only way graphics are correct is in dosbox, but here the game runs much too slow (keypstrokes are partly ignored and it is very slow scrolling).

so my questions:

1. is there a way to solve the font problem ?
2. is there any win32 clone of mzx / zzt ?
3. is there any game at all with similiar gameplay? i really like these "search the keys, kill some monsters, explore huge worlds" games.

first, a screenshot of robot3:

<img src="http://www.game-of-robot.de/images/robot3.png">

next, if you dare to play, download the latest win32 release here:

first, the runtime:

http://www.tofahrn.de/tomprod/beta/GameOfRobot.zip

and now the world (scene files) definition:

http://www.tofahrn.de/tomprod/beta/WorldOfRobot.zip

its really worth a try - these games are fantastic, but sadly only in german. but please try this game and tell me if you would like to have a english translation. i have contact with the author and probably could convince him to translate is series of games (robot1-4) into english.

Dos, your array of images was quite impressive. However, I fear you're forgetting something...
