*A spoony blast from the past*

Cool Site, anyone remember me?

I was a crappy n00b for a while and then stated to get good near the end, I participated in several 24 hours of ZZT competions and was the founder of Flying Fish Software. I was active around 1995?-2000? and witnessed the migration from AOL/CompuServe to the net. I lost track of the ZZTC around the closing of the ZZT archive site (since AOL had quit hosting ZZT Games), I never really looked until now because I had moved on to other things and had alot less free time then... I only found this site after a discussion about DOS games on NationStates (a fun free online game where you control a nation, I'm Patoxia if anyone wants to contact me there).

Back when I disappeared I was working on two (Still unfinished games):

So, what has happened since I've been gone? What of Tseng, GchuckyG, Darky, the AKs, The Saga of the ZZTers/MZXers, etc.?

Is #DarkDigital still around somewhere?

Currently the active IRC channel is #rawr. #dd died sometime in the last two years I think.

Tseng also left in that time too. I'm not sure about the others.... before my time.

If you want to catch up on lost time, the big games since you've been gone have been Burglar, Frost, and ESP, but I'm sure I've left out some of the less recent ones.

Madtom's Pick is the current award site where the best game of each month is listed, as well as several categories for the best of the year. Madtom's away at the moment, but the previous awards are still up. Both Frost and ESP got this award, and Burglar! was made by Madtom himself.

also i noticed from your screenshots that your games look really old

this is a good thing

i've been waiting for someone to make games that look like the zzt games of days past for a while. i suppose it takes someone from days past to make them like that.

AKWare is now Disaster Labs, and they don't do ZZT anymore. They've made some retarded and scary flash movies and some retarded RPGs. I especially recommend Gender-Neutral... that movie is messed up. Zaphod

Quantum: That was IJAK/Redfox/Demascota or whatever he goes as now. I do have a few old bookmarked dead sites and several really old games and stuff. I also recovered Nomad's old ZZT comics. MadTom called me Captain Marvel. Now I just make Zaphod emoticons.

Yeah, I meant DarkMage. tseng was a great guy, too bad he left, I'm not that sorry to hear that chuck the iron fisted ChanOP is long gone though. So I take it very few if any people from when I was here are around still?

You didn't miss much. But yeah, nowadays everyone uses magical ZZTAE fades an-- wait... You probably haven't heard of ZZTAE and let's hope you never do because your oldskoolness should not be defiled with a convenient and easy to use ZZT editor.

There's nothing wrong with external editors. However if you use ZZTAE's fade tool you suck. Nadir will say no to them forever, but he's :( with them.

Chuck's still the same big mouth he allways was. I was speaking to Blazer last year on his livejournal, and Chuck appears, shoots off some insults(one of which was actually funny!, then hides on Long Island. Last thin i heared was he died in the game Zeux is poor.
