I think Respite USED its not-so-impressive engine better than Z*Bert used its nice, smoothly programmed engine, but that's mainly because Respite had nicer level design. As for graphics - well, Final Fantasy did one thing really, really well, so I'm changing my vote there from what I posted on the other thread. In any case, everybody else is going vote Frost for best graphics, so I might as well throw in this acknowledgement to FFD1. Frost had better writing, design, music, and plot, but the intro for FFD1 was just plain dazzling.

Zandor, was Mind Vomit your first released game, besides any 24hoZZT's you may have done? If so, you are more eligible than MLH, who released a game some time around August 2002 (Nexus 1).
