Rogue was *supposedly* the fist program to use a C library for displaying ASCII characters at X and Y coordinates. This spawned many other games, and is the basis for the graphics of ZZT. So I'd say yeah.

it's fun. But simple. It's more influential than anything, being a departure from text-based adventures.
